Hi. As part of our partnership with CPA Australia, KnowledgEquity manages the Ask The Expert Forum.
As we all know, Artificial Intelligence is now being used in many applications, including in education to improve efficiencies and user experience. KnowledgEquity has been working on an AI tool to assist candidates with questions about their study guide. Kaila is new and in a BETA testing environment only. The following below explains what KAILA does and does not do.
- KAILA is only available for the subjects Ethics and Governance and Australia Taxation.
- KAILA was trained on the Study Guide only. It does not access other material from across the internet. We did this to ensure that the answers it provides link to the course material you are assessed on and that it meets copyright rules.
- KAILA is locked so that only an enrolled candidate can use it. KAILA is not available to the wider public.
- KAILA may not always understand your question. It accesses a Large Language Model (LLM) like all AI tools do, but these models are still learning how to interpret languages, phrases, use of grammar and so on. If KAILA doesn’t understand you, please rephrase your request in a different way.
- KAILA will attempt to answer your request but do not assume that it is 100% accurate. You must also refer to the links it provides and review the material yourself.
Here are some things that KAILA does not do so you understand the boundaries and limitations of this AI tool.
- KAILA does not answer queries about Guided Learning quiz or practice exam questions. You need to post them in the forum as you do now. And remember, questions already come with answer explanations so please review them first before posting.
- KAILA does not make summary notes or an index for you. If you ask it to “summarise Module 2” or “summarise this section” it will likely refuse. As experts in education we know that getting summary notes from another source (whether and AI tool, student, your grandma) is not smart because you do not learn the material. It does not stay in your brain. So always make your own summary notes.
- KAILA is not available after Guided Learning closes at the end of the semester.
KAILA is learning, just like you. Do no expect KAILA to be perfect, no AI tool is. We are reviewing KAILA every day to learn how to help it become smarter but it will take time.
